The Lockworks Experience
Cinema should be an experience, not just a transaction. At Lockworks, every detail of the visit
has been considered: the seating, the bar, the building itself.
Seating & Screens
Forget the cramped flip-down seats of other venues. Lockworks has invested in sofa and
armchair-style seating across all our screens, giving you the ultimate comfort for your movie
experience.
We host 4 screens sized and positioned with our viewers in mind so there is no bad seat in the
house. All of our screens run simultaneously, so we can show multiple films at a range of times
throughout the day. Whether you want a morning kids' club screening or a late-night horror,
there is almost always something on.
The Bar
Lockworks Cinema and Bar is exactly what it says. Drinks and snacks are available before, during
and after your visit, from soft drinks and popcorn to alcoholic drinks. It is the kind of place
where a film night can become a full evening.

Our Screening Types
Screenings for Every Audience
One of the things that sets Lockworks apart is the commitment to making cinema accessible
and welcoming for audiences who are often underserved by mainstream venues. Inclusion is
not an afterthought here; it is built into the programme.
Lockworks Seniors
Regular daytime screenings designed with older audiences in mind, at a relaxed pace and with a welcoming atmosphere. A great way to enjoy the big screen without the evening rush.
Lockworks Library
A curated programme of film in partnership with the local community, bringing cinema to audiences who might not otherwise get through the doors.
Autism-Friendly Screenings
Screenings with reduced sound levels, raised lighting, and a relaxed environment where it is absolutely fine to move around, make noise, or take a break. These sessions are designed for autistic people, those with sensory sensitivities, and their families and carers.
Subtitled Screenings
Selected films shown with English subtitles for deaf and hard-of-hearing audiences. Check the
what's on page for upcoming subtitled performances. View our Subtitled Showtimes here.
A Historic Home for Modern Cinema
The name Lockworks is a deliberate nod to where we are. The Chubb Building was once the global headquarters of Chubb Locks, one of Britain's most famous security manufacturers, and its industrial heritage is woven into the fabric of the venue. The building itself is Grade II listed, recognising its architectural and historical significance to the West Midlands.
The £2 million renovation breathed new life into the space without erasing what made it special. Exposed brickwork, original structural details, and a sense of scale that no modern-build multiplex can replicate sit alongside state-of-the-art projection, Dolby sound, and seating designed for comfort.
What this Historic Building Means for Your Visit
Arriving at Lockworks feels different from arriving at a retail-park cinema. The building is a
destination in its own right, situated in Wolverhampton city centre with strong transport links
and parking nearby. It is the kind of place that makes a film night feel like an occasion.
